SOURN SEREY RATHA, a leader of Khmer People Power Movement (KPPM) is a Cambodian born in Battambang Province of Cambodia.

He earned MA of International Policies from Mara University of Technology of Malaysia, BA of Law and BA of Sociology from Phnom Penh University, Cambodia.

He became a social activist at national and international level since 1997. With 10 years of experiences in Civil Society Organization (National, Regional and International) at the grassroots Mr. SOURN understand very well the poor’ s needs.

Mr. SOURN was an editor of Radio station, Program Director of National NGOs in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for 10 years experienced. He was Elected by regional board and country representative of  South East Asia Committeefor Advocacy (SEACA) as Member of Executive Committee of SEACA , August 16-18, 2005, Jorjarkata, Indonesia, read here. mr-sourn-ratha-leaded-sean-civil-society-to-welcome-mr-un1In the capacity of an Executive Committee of SEACA, Mr. SOURN had been playing role as a key person to convince and lobby with ASEAN country and General Serectary of ASEAN Mr. Oung Keng Yung, to accept the rule of Civil Society in ASEAN Summit.

He was invited by Mr. Jeam Bing, President of the 59th Session of the United Nation General Assembly as a key note speaker to UN General Assembly Hearing at the Head Quarter of United Nation in New York City, United State of America, June 23-25, 2005 on the topic of Freedom to Live in Dignity. Mr. SOURN’ s political ideology stands for the Republicanism. And his father is a Republican Cambodian Special Force KANSEIGN SAR (the White Scarf Special Force).
